Romanians Andrei Pavel and Gabriel Trifu took home the doubles title in 1998 and in 2005 two local players reached the semi-finals. However, Romania has yet to celebrate a home-grown singles victory. Will the 2006 edition mark a turning point in the country's tennis history?
